Yesterday, I had some fun with my colours. I worked with stencils, both homemade and commercial, and stamps. The result are these wonderful sketchbook-pages and fabrics, made for my Journal Quilt on the web with Ineke Berlyn. I used Setacolor, and the colours were mixed at random, not cleaning the foam-roller in between.

The Lost Garden
Today is reveal-day for Latitudequilts, and here are my little quilt:
I had to go far back to find my memory, from my early childhood. We had a cabin back then, out of the city, with a garden full of flowers and berry-bushes, which my grandmother planted in the 1930s. There also were a lake near by, where we used to go bathing with our row-boat. I decided to go abstract, seeing the flowers in the front, and an overview with lake and forrest in the background, as if seen from above.
Mono-printed and painted calico, freehand-quilted and hand-embroidered.
Hole in the glove!
I am dying a gradation of black today and suddenly I discovered a hole in my glove:
Nice to go to work with a black finger! But, luckily, I had not put in the Soda Ash, so most of the colour was gone when I arrived at work. The fabrics are waiting for me to come home, hopefully there is more colour on them.
At last winter is gone
At last we can enjoy sun and warm weather, although some days are rather cold. Unfortunately, in having fine weather in Bergen means having wind from the north. And – Arctic is not that far away. In other words, the sun can shine but the heat of it is not present!
Well, it is May, it is time for the Japanese Cherry blooming in our central park, Byparken, and the pink mixed with the bright green of spring is just wonderful. For years, I have been photographing this, and earlier this spring I just made a quick quilt, to try out an idea. Not big art, just a big sketch in fabric, photo transfer, piecing and making my embrodery-machine quilt circles, and a little bit of hand-stitching. Not the best pictures, but enjoy:
I want winter gone!
After months of cold clear weather, it started snowing this weekend! And I so much want spring to come…Well eventually it will.
31st of March we also revealed our second challenge with Latitudequilts. The theme this time were Every Single Day, and my entry is called «Tea – this flavoured water that does us so good»
The rest of the groups entry can be found here:

and some close-ups:
Every single day
This is the new theme for my group Latitude Quilts: http://latitudequilts.blogspot.no/
Since I’m a great tea-lover, I want to do something with tea, and have tried different approaches. One thing is the japanese sign for tea, I used a stencil and Soft gel medium, and a wash of watercolour ( unfortunately not in focus, it’s only my cell-phone):
Another thing I’ve tried this weekend, is photo transfer with soft gel medium as well. I tried both laser-print and ink-jet:
This is not a good photo, but it give you a hint of the result. The ones that are almost faded away is from my ink-jet printer. First I thought them a miss, but the more I look at them, the more I like them. Where I end I don’t know, but I am a bit closer to my finish. I just have to look through my stash of fabric and find the perfect fabric for my idea!
And if you want to have a look at my first entry, from the challenge «Carnival», here it is:
Mitt bidrag heter «Behind the Mask» – Bak Masken.
